Trapped souls

Sometimes the soul cannot be at peace and move on to the next stage, especially if they were murdered or justice had not been served. Not only do they remain stuck and blocked, but their ability to communicate with psychics and other realms is limited and is more difficult to interpret as they continue to suffer and remain in a confused and frightened state. There are several theories why spirits cannot rest;

  • They do not know they have died and are confused.
  • They have unfinished business and cannot be at peace until it is achieved.
  • They were too traumatized and confused when they needed to pass over, if they met an untimely death.

Some spirits lie in wait for centuries without justice or await someone to guide them because they cannot hear, but we cannot force or push them. All one can do is show them the way and guide them. For some they need to trust you before they will listen to you, just as it is here on the physical plane. It is hard enough to convince someone of something face-to-face let alone when you can only sense them when they want to make their presence known. It is no easy task or one to be taken flippantly. Nor can it just happen, unless a guide comes to collect them, but often spirits do not understand the role of the guide. In some ways psychics act like the interpreter between the physical and spiritual realms, facilitating the transition.

It reminds us that time is infinite, and that everything happens in its own time and when the soul is ready and at peace. These earth-bound spirits struggle in between the realms and are assisted by their guides in both realms to make the transition and to finally, find peace.

Elements of the Soul Purpose

One of the aims of life is to learn lessons or challenges. Unless you are a young or new soul the chances are your incarnations will have fewer and less harsh challenges in order for you to learn. I call them challenges, as realistically when we face them, they are that indeed. It would be inhuman to go into a situation such as watching a loved one being murdered and consider it a lesson, but a challenge on how to cope with the situation and deal with loss and remain strong. We have opted to learn particular lessons, to work on them, however these can seem like a utopic notion we perceived before incarnation versus reality that become juxtaposed. On the physical plane (here) we are subject to external players that affect and influence events, emotions and can hinder these lessons and they become more of a challenge.

So what happens? Do we fail? Suffer pain in a difficult incarnation to fulfill the purpose of the lesson? Hopefully we would have planned for member of our soul group to support and  assist us. Also our guides should recognize this and step in. Otherwise, we have free will to stop, take stock and reevaluate and change our thought patterns towards the situation. The question is, will this lesson if unfulfilled for whatever reason remain in our soul contract for the next incarnation or that of our descendants. Theories dictate that it is the case, unless the contract is amended or re-written.

The understanding of the process is paramount to know why and how–a karmic overdraft is predestined for potential descendants before they have even decided on an incarnation. By understanding what we need to do and our limits and boundaries, we can make our incarnations less burdensome and healthier.  The realization means we can achieve more in a credible manner, know what is not feasible and find alternative ways to release the lesson or to tackle it. Sometimes we may have thought we have learned a lesson, but it was not the actual lesson we had aimed for or a deeper level is required.

Altruistic incarnations differ, as their purpose is to assist in providing the lesson, in many cases becoming a victim. Like anything, bad experiences deter us from repeating the same, delaying incarnations or choosing not to return. Many in recent times have decided this is to be their final incarnation because of how humanity has evolved.

I ask why if I am an evolved Old Soul did I opt to reincarnate and put myself through the pain of humanity? Perhaps to perfect some elements, to see things through different eyes, to be more rational? Old Souls were asked to reincarnate to assist and guide younger souls, a brave or foolhardy choice? Similar to an altruistic incarnation in some ways, both addressing lessons and providing the lesson too. An unenviable task.

Choosing our soul group

There are many theories about how we choose our parents, siblings and our soul group; that it is predetermined before incarnation. However, if we look at the bigger picture, our parents and grandparents would have been involved and made soul contracts before their incarnation so if any party chooses to divert, how does that change the plan?

Consider this theory, you wanted a sibling close in age to help you learn a specific lesson, but your parents cannot have another child or one gets divorced, how does that change things? I would venture a theory that you have a choice of who will be your parents, to be born nearby to become a neighbor or best friend or even adopted. Somehow the soul group will come together, but plans can be adjusted.

Members of the soul group don’t stay indefinitely as much as we would like them to, that’s why we miss them and yearn for them. We must understand they have their own path and goals to follow and they have other soul contracts to fulfill. That’s why I consider soul bonds stronger than blood ties; they are eternal even if blood ties in the physical world are deemed to be stronger.

Many wonder why they chose their parents, some for karmic reasons and role reversal and some because geographically and era wise it enabled the soul group to connect. That’s why some children feel disconnected from their families; it could be an incarnation of convenience or to be born in the same bloodline of a relative who is a member of the soul group.

I wonder sometimes if my incarnation was responsible for my parents arranged marriage, both are so disconnected from me, and my brother too. However, there are reasons my brother is around and we were bonded and I feel I have now repaid what I needed to. He is part of my soul group, but I feel for the last time, as I no longer have that bond or desire to protect him as I once did. Soul groups do usually last, but some will serve their purpose as the group becomes smaller once you have achieved what you needed.

This is why Old Souls have smaller soul groups or ones where members do not need to appear in every incarnation. That’s why they are seen as loners or hermits, because they don’t need their soul group, or only a select few. We recognize our soul group when we necessary; those bonds will endure, but will fade as we discover our goals and purposes.

Soul groups and the twin flame myth

There are various myths surrounding the phenomena of twin flames; that the soul splits into two and the two parts incarnate at the same time to become whole; two souls in the same soul group incarnate at the same time at the same soul stage of growth or the misconception that a twin flame is soul mate, a destined partner.

I don’t believe in twin flames, but I believe that there are soul groups. Not all members will opt to incarnate at the same time, as some may choose to guide instead. The purpose of a soul group is to support each other in lessons during their incarnations. Often the roles will be reversed in alternate incarnations for unresolved issues or incomplete lessons that get repeated. A child in one incarnation may have been the great-grandparent in another; it is not uncommon for family members to incarnate into the same family especially when karmic debt is involved. There is an illusion that all soul connections are all positive, however, some soul lessons maybe harsh and painful, but are ones that your soul group have agreed to assist you in learning. Looking at it from a different perspective, it is positive as they are helping you achieve your soul goals and enable your soul growth.

Many members of the soul group will not remain with you throughout the incarnation; some will appear briefly for specific lessons and others will support you through periods of evolution. It explains why certain people are drawn to each and why some drift in and out of one’s life. I have found younger souls have a wider soul group as they will have more lessons to learn and require a variety of ways to achieve their goals. Older souls will have a smaller group, not only because they have fewer lessons, but many incarnate as a supportive role.

The concept of a soul mate also seems impractical, what if the soul mate chooses an exit point or does not see the signs and follows an alternate path? A more plausible theory is a soul group where there are several potential soul connections depending on the paths each chooses. The question arises from failed relationships, they can be seen as soul lessons to experience things from the relationship, be it loss, betrayal or being on different paths. Each interaction helps us to grow and pushes our boundaries as we learn what is right or wrong for us. Searching for a soul mate can lead to disappointment when idealistic expectations are not realized. Instead, it creates a distraction and sidetracks us from our true purpose of allowing our souls to grow and learn. It is comforting to share the journey with another, but there are some lessons one must learn alone. Often, once the main lessons are learned, then the door opens for a soul connection relationship to materialize.

Too many people search and are under the illusion that a soul mate or twin flame will bring them happiness and complete them. Often, that is not the case once you understand the true nature of soul groups and what your soul goals are. Sometimes people do find their soul connection early on and grow together, but some soul lessons will not be pleasant ones, but necessary ones. A better option is to be open to supporting your fellow soul group and allowing those connections to grow and flourish. I believe if you stop looking, your soul connections will find their way to you—just as planned!
